A group leader and professional guides experts in accessibility will accompany you throughout the trip, and accessible vans fitted with wheelchair lifts will do all transfers between destinations, activities, and the airport. Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose, you'll meet your fellow travelers, local guide, and group leader. Your guides will assist with your luggage and transport you to the 4-star Park Inn by Radisson San Jose hotel in an accessible van equipped with a wheelchair lift. Your guaranteed accessible room will be ready and waiting for you upon arrival.

Let's gather for dinner at a restaurant near our hotel to meet up with your travel mates! We will choose a great option, friendly with dietary restrictions, fully accessible, and where you will get to try local flavors. This meal is included.

This urban park features botanical gardens and is home to over ...Morning: After breakfast, you'll visit Zoo Ave, a rescue center for wild animals. This urban park features botanical gardens and is home to over 125 species of animals, including birds, mammals, and reptiles. The animals at the park have been rescued and cannot be released back into the wild for various health or behavioral reasons. The park has step-free accessible toilets; however, some ramps have an incline more significant than 20°, so wheelchair users may need assistance accessing them. After this visit, you'll be transported back to San Jose.

Lunch: After the morning visits, you'll enjoy an included lunch at a restaurant in San Jose with local dishes.

Afternoon: After lunch, you'll be transported to the city center of San Jose in a wheelchair-accessible van for a guided city tour. Although the city presents some accessibility challenges, the attractions and stops included in the itinerary have easy access and adapted restrooms. Your first guided visit will be to the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, which houses the most extensive collection of Latin American gold artifacts and is located in a historical building. You'll then visit the National Theatre, where you'll learn about this 19th-century building and its neoclassical architecture with a guided tour.

Afternoon: Once you arrive in Arenal, you will have the opportunity to soak and relax in the hot springs. Assistance and an amphibious wheelchair will be provided. Afterward, you will check into the 5-star Kioro Suites hotel and spend the night. We recommend having dinner at the hotel.

Beginning with an introduction to the place and everything that grows on their farm, you will cook a delicious Costa Rican dinner, make a toast, and eat your preparation with a glass of sugar cane extract. Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

You will then travel to the Jungle Crocodile Safari & Bird Watching Tour Center, where you will stop for lunch later. The center is set on one level and has accessible bathrooms, as well as a large restaurant and a gift shop. You will wheel approximately 200 metres (218 yards) along paved pathways from the center to the dock, where you will board the accessible tour boat. The boat tour will be led by an experienced guide, who has worked with visitors with physical, hearing and visual impairments.

After the tour, you will enjoy lunch at the restaurant at the boat station.

Afternoon: You will take a 2-hour ride back to San Jose to stay at your accessible hotel. We will have a farewell dinner in a restaurant near the hotel tonight.

  • If you want your own room there is a single supplement additional charge of $1,397

  • This tour has a maximum capacity of 8 people, with a max of 5 wheelchair users

  • A 20% deposit is required to secure your spot on the tour. The remaining 80% must be paid 60 days before the trip start date.

  • Group tours will be accepting new travelers until 60 days prior to the start date

  • This tour must have a minimum of 6 participants to take place at the listed price. If the minimum is not reached, the tour still may be able to occur at a higher price, we will let you know by email.

  • If you're looking to make your group tour even more amazing by adding extra days or activities, our travel experts would be more than happy to help you out!   • This tour does not include personalized assistance or one-on-one support for individual participants. Cancellation Policies

  • We totally understand that things come up and plans change. If you need to cancel your booking, here's what you need to know.
  • If you need to make changes to your booking, like canceling some or all of it, here's what you need to know. To officially cancel your trip, we need to get written confirmation from you. Just reach out to your Travel Expert and they'll help you with the process. Consider:
  • 1) If you let us know more than 60 days before your trip, we'll keep your deposit as a credit for you to use later.
  • 2) If you let us know between 45 and 59 days before your trip, we'll charge a 30% fee of the total booking cost.
  • 3) If you let us know between 44 and 30 days before your trip, we'll charge a 60% fee of the total booking cost.
  • 4) If you let us know 29 days or fewer before your trip, we'll charge a 100% fee of the total booking cost.
  • 5) No-show or not used portions of the trip are non-refundable.
  • But no matter what, we'll do our best to make this process as easy as possible for you. If a trip or activity cannot take place due to extraordinary circumstances (extreme weather events, social movements, war, earthquakes, epidemics, etc), a full refund cannot be guaranteed.
