On this 11-day multi-day trip to Italy, you'll visit Rome, Florence, and Venice with included accessible transportation, accommodations, and activities. Alongside professional tour guides, you'll experience authentic Italian culture and cuisine. The itinerary includes visits to famous museums such as the Vatican Museums, wine-tasting experiences, and a free day in Florence to discover the city at your own pace. 

This multi-day trip was designed with accessibility in mind. Your comfort and safety are our priorities! An accessible vehicle fitted with a wheelchair lift will do all transfers to the activities, your hotels, and airports. Hotel Indigo in Rome,  St George Il Guelfo Bianco in Florence, and Monaco & Grand Canal Hotel in Venice are the selected hotels; if any of the accessible rooms are not available at the time of your booking, we will find another similar accommodation with an accessible room that also matches your needs.

After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have a half-day guided tour of some of the most famous sites of Rome!

Led by a professional guide, the private tour starts by picking you up from your hotel in a wheelchair-accessible van and taking you to your first stop: Trevi Fountain, a Rome must-stop and an iconic example of baroque architecture.

Next, you’ll go to Piazza Navona, an ancient stadium now a quintessential Roman square filled with Renaissance churches, elegant cafes, and trendy art galleries.

The Pantheon is your next stop: an ancient religious site that dates back to 27 B.C. and is one of the best preserved ancient Rome construction.

Finally, you’ll visit two more charming Roman squares: the Piazza Colonna, where you’ll find the famous the Column of Marcus Aurelius, and the Piazza di Spagna, where you’ll encounter one of the most sought-after places to visit: The Spanish Steps, where you don’t have to climb the stairs to enjoy the view! This is the best spot to shop for souvenirs. From spagna square, you'll return to your hotel by accessible van.

Guides can point you in the direction of accessible restrooms during your visit. Although places can be navigated independently by wheelchair users, guides are experienced in working with disabilities and will be ready to help you if needed.

Day 2: Highlights of Rome tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll have a 4-hour tour and submerge yourself in an ancient Rome ambiance!

You'll be picked up from your hotel in an accessible vehicle to the spot of your first visit: The Colosseum! Which is the largest theater in the world. You'll tour the inside of the arena and look at the original arches. Your knowledgeable guide will explain its importance for ancient Rome and other facts.

The Colosseum is wheelchair accessible. It has a ramp entrance, accessible restrooms on-site, and an elevator to reach the second floor, where you can look down at the Colosseum and view the city.

Afterward, you'll travel in a wheelchair-accessible van to the Roman Forum. This ancient marketplace later housed many important buildings of the old Roman government and was influential in Roman social and political life.

At the entrance of the Roman Forum, an elevator is available to take you down to explore the ancient ruins. However, it's important to note that only approximately 20% of the grounds are wheelchair accessible once you reach the lower level, and there are no accessible restrooms on-site. We can arrange an all-terrain Joëlette wheelchair rental for you for an extra charge.

Next, you'll stop by the Arch of Titus, the Arch of Constantine, and the Imperial Palaces, located on the top of Palatine Hill. You'll get up the hill by accessible van, and the floors are paved.

Tickets for people with disabilities and their companions are free of charge if travelers show the disabled certificate/letter of the doctor/car permission disability; otherwise, tickets can be purchased on-site.

At the end of the tour, you'll be driven back to your hotel in an accessible vehicle.

Day 3: Colosseo and Roman Forum visit

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll have a 6-hour private tour of the world-famous Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with a professional guide. Tickets are included!

You'll be picked up from your hotel in an accessible vehicle and will tour the Vatican Gardens and several rooms within the Vatican. You'll appreciate its art collections, luxurious marble candelabra, and sixteenth-century frescoes by Botticelli, Rosselli, and Michelangelo.

The Sistine Chapel will be your next stop. It used to be private to the pope and is now a famous landmark visited by people worldwide that can be accessed by elevator. Once inside, be sure to look up and marvel at the ceiling: it holds Michelangelo's spectacular "The Last Judgement" fresco, painted between 1535 and 1541. 

The tour finishes with a visit to the monumental Basilica of Saint Peter, the largest church in the world, and a stroll through the iconic St. Peter's Square.

Accessible bathrooms can be found in the Vatican Museums, and mobility aids such as lifts on the flights of stairs are available. There is also a cafe, accessible via a ramp, where you can stop for refreshments. Your guide will be available throughout the tour to answer your questions and assist you if necessary.

Day 4: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter Cathedral visits

On day 5, you will check out of your hotel after breakfast and be transferred to Roma Termini train station by accessible transportation. 

You'll then catch a 2.5-hour train ride to Florence, an English-speaking assistant to help you transfer is included. However, tickets are not included and can be purchased on-site. 

Upon arrival to Florence, you'll be met at Santa Maria Novella station by a driver with an accessible vehicle who will take you to your hotel, the Il Guelfo Bianco, where your guaranteed accessible room will be waiting for you.

Day 5: Arrival to Florence

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll have a half-day accessible tour of Florence! 

It begins with a visit to the historic "Ponte Vecchio Bridge," which spans the Arno River and boasts a rich history. It's known for its unique shops, including jewelers and souvenir stores, making it a romantic spot with stunning views. 

Moving through the accessible "Uffizi courtyard," the tour leads to "Piazza della Signoria," home to a copy of Michelangelo's "David" and the impressive "Palazzo Vecchio." 

Nearby, you'll find the captivating statues of the accessible "Loggia dei Lanzi" and marble lions guarding the entrance. Continuing, the tour explores "Piazza della Repubblica," the city's central hub, featuring street artists, a colorful carousel, and iconic spots like the "Giubbe Rosse Café" and the accessible "Hard Rock Café." 

The tour then proceeds to the renowned "Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore" (the "Duomo"), the accessible "Baptistery of St. John," and "Giotto's Bell Tower," all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Duomo's impressive Gothic architecture, including Filippo Brunelleschi's iconic dome, and its stunning frescoes, like the "Last Judgment" by Giorgio Vasari, make it a must-visit attraction in Florence.

Day 6: Florence city tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll be picked up at 10:00 AM and then have an hour's drive to the Chianti region, where you'll have a private 4-hour tour of Italy's finest wines and food. 

The tour includes a guided visit to an accessible wine cellar. You'll learn about winemaking: an essential piece of Italian gastronomy. 

The visit includes wine-tasting experiences with local wines like Chianti, the Brunello di Montalcino, and the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The tasting session will accompany local produce and charcuterie, such as cheese, olives, olive oil, prosciutto ham, and salami. There are accessible restrooms on-site.

Afterward, you'll be taken back to Il Guelfo Bianco in Florence.

Day 7: Chianti wine tasting

On day 8, you'll transfer to Venice by train! 

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll transfer to the train station by a private and accessible transportation service. The driver will be available to assist you with your luggage.

Then you'll catch a 5-hour train to Venice. An English-speaking assistant to help you transfer is included. However, tickets are not included and can be purchased on-site.

Upon arrival, you'll be met by a guide, who will take you to Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal on an accessible vehicle, where your guaranteed accessible room will be waiting for you.

Day 8: Arrival to Venice

After having breakfast at your hotel, you'll have a 6-hour tour of the Murano and Burano, two of the many islands that compose Venice's lagoon crossed by the Grand Canal. You'll arrive by an accessible transfer.

Murano is the biggest Venice island and houses the accessible VII-century Santa Maria e San Donato Church. With Venetian-Byzntine architecture, you'll marvel at the mosaic flooring filled with biblical references your guide can point out. After a 10-minute stroll, you'll arrive at San Pietro Martire Church with a lateral accessible entrance.

Burano will be your next stop. The quaint town is famous for its colorful houses and its lace industry. Here, you'll be able to shop local craftsmanship. Tre Ponti is the perfect spot to photograph this colorful island! 

You'll use accessible public transportation to move around; you can add private transportation for an extra charge.

At the end of the tour, you'll return to your Venice hotel in an accessible vehicle.

Day 9: Murano and Burano visits

After having breakfast at your hotel, you’ll have a private half-day tour of Venice’s highlights. Considered an open-air museum, Venice offers endless opportunities to explore, and this tour can guide you through the city. 

St. Mark square is your first stop, where you’ll cross the iconic Venice’s narrow streets and visit the spectacular St. Mark Basilica. Doge’s Palace and its museum will be your next stop; you can shop at local artisan shops specializing in glass materials and gaze at Tiziano frescoes. Later you’ll return to your hotel by accessible van.

Day 10: Highlights of Venice

On your last day, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Venice Marco Polo Airport in a wheelchair-accessible van. An English-speaking assistant is included un the price.
