On this 5-day trip, you’ll get to know one of the cultural capitals of Scotland, the beautiful and historic city of Glasgow. This accessible itinerary gives you time to get to know the city, with private guided tours of some of the districts, visiting historical landmarks. You’ll also have a full-day themed trip visiting the nearby countryside, tracking down locations visited in the famous Outlander TV show and book series. There’s also some free time for you to shop, relax, and discover the city at your own pace. 

This trip is accessible to people with disabilities, and includes round-trip transportation to and from the airport in an accessible vehicle, as well as accommodation in an accessible hotel. The private tours all have stops with accessible bathroom facilities and the itineraries can be modified to suit your mobility level.

This trip can be arranged for customers traveling by themselves. Assistants and trained guides will be hired to assist and help out with the logistics needed.

Travel insurance is not included but an appropriate insurance based on your personal needs is highly recommended.

On your arrival day, you’ll fly into the local airport. You’ll be met at the airport by your friendly guide who will help you with your luggage. Transfer from the airport to your hotel in an accessible vehicle is included in the price.Once you get to your accommodation, your guaranteed accessible room will be waiting for you. Upon arrival, you’ll have some free time to unpack, go out for a meal, and get ready for the adventures that await you over the next 4 days.

On day 2, you’ll enjoy a private 3-hour walking tour through Glasgow’s West End. You’ll meet your guide in a central location and head out together towards the West End, admiring scenic parts of the city on the way. The West End is known for its cobbled streets and unusual shops, and your guide will leave plenty of time for you to snap photos. You’ll get a feel for the city as you explore the small alleyways and see the facades of historic buildings. The tour ends in a local favorite pub, where you can enjoy a pint. The route can also be adapted to suit people with reduced mobility or other disabilities.

Day 3 of your Glasgow trip features a private walking tour of the city center. The tour will start at the Statue of William II of Scotland. 
During the 3-hour tour, your guide will show you famous landmarks such as Glasgow Cathedral and Provand’s Lordship, which is the oldest building in the city. Your local guide will tell you about life in the city and show you locations featured in many Hollywood films. You’ll have a drink en route and end the tour in the Merchant City area, which was once a key trading location and is now a trendy district with cafes, shops and restaurants. The route can also be adapted to suit people with reduced mobility or other disabilities.

On day 4, you’ll have a full-day private tour following the heroes of the Outlander books and TV series. The day begins with a pick-up service from your hotel in an accessible vehicle, and you’ll explore locations in Glasgow and further afield. 

On the drive, you’ll see beautiful, scenic countryside featured in the series and you’ll visit Blackness Castle, known as Fort William to fans of the show. After lunch, you’ll head to Aberdour Castle which is also featured in the series, and Dysart Harbor where Jamie and Claire traveled from to get to France. Throughout the day, your guide will let you in one behind-the-scenes facts about Outlander and can answer your questions about the series and the locations you’ll visit. At the end of the day, you’ll be dropped back off at your hotel.

Day 5 is your departure day. Depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the airport in a wheelchair-accessible van. The driver will help with transfers and luggage.
