Sullivan Catskills: Where Nature Writes the Script
The Sullivan Catskills region reveals itself slowly, the way the best places do. One river road leading to a hand-lettered market sign, the smell of something baking in a town you almost drove through. Spread across more than 1,000 square miles of New York's most unspoiled countryside, this is a region of real contrasts: wild forests and welcoming main streets, deep history and creative energy, legendary trout streams and craft breweries pouring something worth lingering over. Home to the birthplace of American fly-fishing and the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, now the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the Sullivan Catskills carries its legacy lightly and shares it generously.
