Astoria and Warrenton are nestled on the southern shores of the Columbia River, where it meets the Pacific Ocean. Astoria is the oldest permanent U.S. settlement west of the Rocky Mountains. Rich in history, Astoria and Warrenton provide a plethora of museums, outdoor recreations, events, and attractions for visitors to enjoy all year long. Accessible public transportation between Portland and the coast is available through NW Connector and Point buses. NW Connector is also the source for your local transportation needs around Astoria, Warrenton and Oregon’s north coast.
Note that there are no WAV ride-sharing services available.

At Astoria and Warrenton, each season brings unique experiences and natural scenery! Summers are ideal for a family, kid-friendly vacation (June - September). Other months offer a slower-paced, more individual retreat.
Astoria and Warrenton feature a mild climate, with winter lows in the low-40s and summer highs in the mid-60s. Rare snow and occasional summer 80s happen briefly, and the area receives over 70 inches of rain annually.
Astoria hosts a range of events all year round, including the Astoria Regatta, FisherPoets Gathering, Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, and Astoria Film Festival. These events make the city a lively hub for diverse interests!
