This multi-day trip was designed with accessibility in mind. Your comfort and safety are our priorities! All guaranteed accessible rooms are equipped with a roll-in shower, and an accessible van fitted with a wheelchair lift will do all transfers between destinations and activities. Park-inn by Radisson San Jose, Evergreen Lodge, Selva Verde Lodge, and Kioro Suites & Spa are the selected hotels; if the accessible room is not available at the time of your booking, we will find another similar accommodation with an accessible room that also matches your needs.

Day 1: Arrival to Costa Rica

Your guaranteed accessible room equipped with a roll-in shower will be waiting for you.
Morning: After breakfast at your hotel, you'll head to La Pavona pier on an accessible van and board a boat to Tortuguero. Lunch: After enjoying the 1-hour boat ride's spectacular landscapes, you will arrive at Evergreen Lodge, which is wheelchair accessible. Here you will have a buffet lunch.
Afternoon: After lunch, you will visit the sea turtle conservatory. It is a small museum that allows you to learn all about turtle species through beautifully curated exhibitions.
You'll be taken back to the Evergreen Lodge to finish your day, where your accessible room will be waiting for you.
Day 3: Sunrise animal watching + Tortuguero accessible hike

At around 5:45, you will meet your guide at the hotel's private dock to depart to the Tortuguero canals. Access to this boat is a bit difficult for wheelchair users, but with the help of lodge and dock staff, who have been trained to help, you will be safely transferred.
During this 90-minute journey through the Tortuguero canals, you will see all kinds of animals: birds, iguanas, monkeys, alligators, and sloths, among others. This trip will highly probably be one of the highlights of your vacation!
Once back at the lodge, you will have breakfast and free time to rest. The lodge boasts a swimming pool with a ramp and a wheelchair. It offers a delightful spot for a break.
Afternoon:
Lunch will be served at the lodge, and later on, you will take a walk or wheel through the accessible paths of Tortuguero, where you'll discover the impressive local flora and fauna. This hike lasts for about 90 minutes. A Joëlette wheelchair can be provided, if required, for the most adventurous travelers wanting to go through more challenging trails.
After this hike, you will return to the lodge for dinner and the night.

On your way, you'll stop by for lunch and be able to use accessible toilets.
Afternoon:
Upon arrival to Saripiquí, you'll check into 4-star Selva Verde Lodge, which offers accessible bedrooms equipped with roll-in showers; however, even though the accesses are adapted, the inclinations can be a little high, and travelers using manual wheelchairs will need help a bit of help to be pushed. Also, the restaurant has two floors, but only one is accessible.
At 4:00 PM, you will start a 1-hour trek from the lodge. The trekking experience consists of an easy path with few steps. You'll be accompanied by an expert guide in animal sightings at all times to offer an excellent opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna. The most significant difficulty is crossing a bridge that moves a lot and is narrow, but your guide will always be there to assist you.
Later, you will be transferred to your accessible room at Selva Verde Lodge.

Afternoon: You'll be transferred and checked in to the 5-star Kioro Suites & Spa, where your guaranteed accessible room equipped with a roll-in shower will be waiting for you. You can have some free time at the hotel in the afternoon or explore outdoors!
On day 6, after having breakfast at the hotel, it will be time for you to head to the treetops!
