The Palace of Versailles was a hunting lodge but Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King, transformed it into the grand palace that we can see today. Highlights of Versailles that you’ll see on your tour include the famous Hall of Mirrors, the apartments of the king and queen, and the Trianon Estate in the gardens, where Marie Antoinette would live a romanticized version of peasant life. As this visit is self-guided, you’ll be able to explore the huge palace and grounds at your own pace and discover the corners of the palace that interest you the most.

The Palace of Versailles is accessible to visitors with disabilities and offers numerous additional facilities and services to make the visit easier. Entrance is free to visitors with disabilities and one additional visitor can accompany a person with disabilities free of charge. There are dedicated accessible parking spaces close to the entrance and all floors of the palace are accessed by an elevator. Accessible bathrooms are stationed at several locations around the palace, including in the reception area, and there are several seating areas. Guests with disabilities can borrow wheelchairs, visio guides, and audio guides with hearing loops for their visit, and the audio guides are available in 11 languages. Museum staff are available to provide assistance, if necessary.
