On this extraordinary, accessible adventure, you will discover the beautiful and wild country of Namibia, located in southwestern Africa. The itinerary includes some of the highlights of the country, such as the Kalahari Desert, the German-influenced capital of Windhoek, and the Etosha National Park which is home to lions, zebras and desert elephants. 

The itinerary of the trip has been adapted to accommodate a range of disabilities, with accessible transportation and adapted hotel facilities included. All of the staff throughout the tour have experience of working with disabilities and will be able to provide assistance where necessary. This trip can be arranged for customers traveling by themselves. Assistants and trained guides will be hired to assist and help out with the logistics needed.

Travel insurance is not included but an appropriate insurance based on your personal needs is highly recommended.

On your arrival day, you will be met by your dedicated tour guide and will travel together to Windhoek. You will arrive at your hotel, the The Weinberg Hotel, Gondwana Collection Windhoek, where your guaranteed accessible room will be waiting for you. You’ll have some free time to rest, unpack and get ready for the adventures that await you over the next 12 days.

Day 1: Windhoek

Agama Lodge

Transfer in an accessible vehicle

Tropic of Capricorn

Day 2 begins with a tasty breakfast and then a 4-hour drive in an accessible vehicle, which will give you a chance to appreciate the diversity of the landscape. You’ll also go through the Tropic of Capricorn, where you can enjoy a brief photo stop. Your destination is the Agama Lodge in the Naukluft Mountains, and upon arrival, you can take some time to rest or participate in optional activities at the lodge.

Day 2: Arrival in Sossusvlei Area

Namib-Naukluft National Park

On day 3, you will be picked up early from the lodge and drive 90 minutes into the mountains in an accessible vehicle. You will arrive at the largest conservation area in Africa, then Namib-Naukluft National Park, and your guide will take you around parts of the stunningly unspoiled desert. At the end of the tour, you will return to the Agama Lodge.

Day 3: Sossusvlei and Deadvlei

On day 4, you will have breakfast at the lodge and will start a 4-hour road trip in an accessible vehicle, with a stop-off in the smallest town in Namibia, Solitaire, which is situated at the edge of the Namib-Naukluft National Park. The final destination of the trip is the seaside town of Swakopmund and you will be staying at the Gecko Ride Guesthouse. Once you have checked in, you’ll have some free time to explore Swakopmund.

Day 4: Arrival in Swakopmund

Walvisbay

Day 5 of the tour is an exciting catamaran cruise departing from Walvisbay, which will give you a chance to discover some of Namibia’s unique coastal flora and fauna. After the cruise, you’ll return to the Gecko Ride Guesthouse.

Damara Mopane Lodge

Plains of Damaraland

Day 6 of the tour features an expedition to the home of the desert elephants, Damaraland. You will begin the day with breakfast in your guesthouse and will then have a 3-hour drive in an accessible vehicle to the plains of Damaraland. This unique landscape also has ancient rock paintings and distant mountains. Your guide will tell you about the region and the desert elephants. You will end the day with a stay in Damara Mopane Lodge.

Day 6: Arrival in Damaraland Area

Gondwana Damara Mopane Lodge

Taleni Etosha Village

Etosha National Park

On day 7, you will have breakfast in the guesthouse and then travel for 4 hours to the Etosha National Park. This unique park has 2 distinct phases; for most of the year in the dry season it is covered in a golden-white dust, but for a few days in the rainy season the salt desert becomes a shallow lagoon where flamingos, pelicans, and other species descend to feed. Whatever time of year that you’re there, you’re sure to see some spectacular scenery and wildlife. You’ll spend the night in the Etosha Village Campsite.

Day 7: Etosha National Park

South of Etosha National Park

Day 8 of the tour is safari day! You’ll spend the entire day in the south of Etosha National Park. Your safari tour guide will take you to some of the best wildlife hotspots, so make sure to bring your camera and binoculars.

The safari continues on day 9 of the tour, with your guide showing you more of Etosha National Park. In the evening, you can relax and even enjoy a swim at the pool at the Taleni Etosha Village.

Day 10 of the tour is a travel day, with a relaxing 3-hour drive through the Namibian Savannah. You will arrive at the Waterberg region at the Frans Indongo Lodge, where you can rest after the journey.

On day 11, you will have a 1-hour drive to the oldest game farm in Namibia, the Otjiwa Lodge. Upon arrival, you can take part in an optional nature drive through the grounds of the lodge or rest in your comfortable, accessible room.

On day 12, you’ll leave the Otjiwa Lodge in the late morning after breakfast and head back to Windhoek, approximately a 2-hour drive away. Your guide will show you around the capital and take you to the Kapana Market. Your accommodation will be the The Weinberg Hotel, Gondwana Collection Namibia.

Day 12: City tour Windhoek

Day 13 is the last day of the tour. Depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the airport in a wheelchair-accessible van. The driver will help with transfers and luggage.
