This trip can be arranged for customers traveling by themselves. Assistants and trained guides will be hired to assist and help out with the logistics needed.

Welcome to Romania! Your guide will meet you at Henri Coanda Bucharest Airport and transfer you to Bucharest. You will have a short sightseeing tour on your way to the 4-star Novotel Bucharest hotel, where your accessible room will be waiting for you.

Day 1: Arrival to Bucharest

On day 2, you will get to know the dynamic and cultural city of Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The tour begins with an accessible pick-up service from your hotel to the Palace of the Parliament building, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon. You’ll spend approximately 90 minutes with your English-speaking guide.

Next, you will visit the picturesque Old Center of Bucharest and learn about its architecture. Afterward, you’ll head to the Village Museum for a 2-hour visit and then have a break for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll spend some time relaxing and exploring Herastrau Park, and at the end of the day, you’ll be dropped back at your hotel in the accessible van. 

Please note that parts of the Old Center of Bucharest have a cobblestone floor, but your guide will be on hand to assist if necessary. Three of the stops on the tour have accessible restroom facilities, and you can store your wheelchair inside the van if you wish. For an extra charge, guests with visual or hearing disabilities can purchase audio guides to use at the Palace of the Parliament and the Village Museum.

Day 2: Bucharest City Tour

After breakfast, get ready to visit Transylvania: a historical and cultural area in central Europe and a must-stop when visiting Romania. With a rich history and many landmarks that make you travel back in time, you will start by visiting one of the most iconic Romaninan landmarks:  Peles Castle, Sinaia, a nineteenth-century castle. 

Later you will be driven to Busteni to explore another castle: Cantacuzino Castle. At the end of your day, you will explore the quaint town of Brasov, famous for its preserved medieval constructions.

Day 3: Bucharest, Sinaia, Busteni & Brasov

On day 4, you will discover the quaint small town of Brasov. Here you will visit the iconic Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle! With a hectic history, this castle dates back to the 13th century. 

Even though Bran Castle is a medieval construction and is not fully accessible, wheelchair users can explore the interior courtyard and the garden at the foothill, which are beautiful attractions.

Day 4: Visit to Brasov

On day 5, your guide will drive you on an accessible van to Sighisoara; a medieval citadel declared a UNESCO heritage site. The ride is beautiful, don't forget to take pictures! Afterward, you will go to Cluj Napoca, where you will have a city tour in the center. You will end your day by visiting the Neo-Gothic Cathedral in the pedestrian area.

Day 5: Brasov, Sighisoara & Cluj Napoca

On day 6, you will explore the lovely town of Cluj Napoca on an accessible city tour. Next, you will go to Alba Iulia. You will visit Alba Carolina Citadel, a Vauban fortress, the Roman ruins, and medieval fortifications here.  It is a charming town that is very important in Rumanian history.

Day 6: Cluj Napoca, Alba Iulia & Sibiu

On day 7, your knowledgeable guide will take you through the old center of Sibiu to discover many churches and other stunning Romanian cultural sites. Transportation will be accessible.

Brukenthal Museum, the Orthodox Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral, the Hungarian Catholic Church, the Synagogue, and the open-air Astra Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization will be part of your itinerary.

Day 7: Sibiu Explorations

On day 8 of this multi-day, you will depart Sibiu and cross the beautiful Olt Valley on your way to Bucharest on an accessible van. Views of the Valley will be stunning!

On your way, you will shortly stop at the 600-years-old Cozia Monastery, built in 1388. You will appreciate medieval architecture, and your guide will tell you all about its history.

Day 8: Sibiu, Olt Valley & Bucharest
