SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium at ICON Park

SEA LIFE Orlando is an aquarium set in the ICON Park in Orlando. Featuring Florida’s only 360° ocean tunnel, this aquarium has many exhibits based on themes such as the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and coastal rock pools, and visitors can see animals such as sharks, stingrays, seahorses and more. There are also interactive exhibits where visitors can feed and touch the animals.

On this self-guided visit, you can explore SEA LIFE Orlando, an aquarium set in ICON Park, Orlando. SEA LIFE Orlando is home to many sea creatures from different marine habitats, such as sharks and stingrays. The aquarium also features Florida’s only 360° viewing tunnel, where visitors can walk through the tanks and see turtles, sharks, eels and more. Several of the exhibits are themed on different natural habitats, like the Indian Ocean Tank and the Atlantic Ocean exhibit. SEA LIFE Orlando encourages visitors to learn about the oceans in a fun and interactive way, with colorful informational displays. Visitors can also interact with the exhibits, for example by feeding the swarm of tang fish at the feeding frenzy pool. SEA LIFE Orlando is an accessible venue, set on one level with accessible parking bays close by. Accessible restroom facilities can be found onsite and at the entrance to ICON Park. As this is a self-guided visit, you will not have a dedicated tour guide but assistance can be provided at the front desk. Service animals are welcome.

Harry P. Leu Gardens

Located a short stroll away from downtown Orlando, the Harry P. Leu Gardens offer a natural experience in the middle of the city. A 50 acre botanical garden with flowers, insects, and animals such as owls, butterflies, flowers, and succulents. From 9 AM to 5 PM you can enjoy green views, accessible paths, and get the chance to photograph and interact with beautiful natural exhibits.

Disney's BoardWalk

Disney’s BoardWalk is located inside the Disney World Resort by Lake Crescent and is a recreation of a 1930’s-style boardwalk in an Atlantic coastal village. Stretching over 400 meters (0.25 miles), the BoardWalk has many shopping, dining and entertainment venues that are wheelchair-accessible and fun for all the family. You can also enjoy lakeside views and nightly musical entertainment.

Enjoy a self-guided visit to the Disney's BoardWalk, a recreation of a 1930’s boardwalk by Lake Crescent in the Disney World Resort. Disney's BoardWalk is a free-to-enter area within Disney Resort that offers many shopping, dining and entertainment venues. Stretching over 400 meters (0.25 miles) alongside the lake, the BoardWalk has a dance hall and a bar with live piano music. Other entertainment options include arcade games and street musicians. If you’re hungry, you can pick up a snack along the BoardWalk, as there are stalls offering ice cream, baked goods, pizza slices, hot dogs and more. The sit-down restaurants include the Big River Grille &amp; Brewing Works, which offers casual American cuisine, Trattoria al Forna, a casual Italian restaurant, and Flying Fish, a fine dining seafood restaurant. The Abracadabra Lounge has an extensive cocktail menu and you can also buy margaritas from BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas, which serves cocktails, drinks and Mexican-inspired snacks. The BoardWalk is an accessible venue for people with disabilities. The surface is wide and smooth, and can easily be navigated in a wheelchair. There are several restrooms with accessible bathroom stalls and service animals are welcome, as long as they are kept on a leash.

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, Florida is an accessible beach that should be on your list of places to visit. The beach is known as the ‘World Center of Racing’, and Daytona International Speedway has attracted drivers from around the world since 1902. Cars are permitted to drive slowly on parts of the hard packed sand, according to the weather and tidal conditions. Visitors also come to Daytona Beach to enjoy water sports, with kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, parasailing and sailing all on offer. Private boat charter is possible to set sail and discover the coastline, which is home to marine mammals such as dolphins and manatees. Boat tours to see dolphins, stingrays and sea turtles depart frequently from the beach and there are also sunset cruises to admire the views bathed in golden light. Daytona Beach is accessible for visitors with disabilities. There are accessible parking spaces and ramps to access the beach in a wheelchair. Several of the restrooms, which are located close to beach ramps, are accessible for people with reduced mobility. It is also possible to rent a beach wheelchair free of charge on Daytona Beach. The beach wheelchairs are distributed from the lifeguard stations on a first come, first served basis. The wheelchairs are rented out for up to a few hours at a time, depending on the waitlist, and visitors can use the wheelchairs to travel around on the beach at their own pace and to go into the water. The lifeguard stations distributing beach wheelchairs are located at Flagler Avenue, Dunlawton Avenue, Cardinal Avenue and at the Beach Headquarters on Daytona Beach. Lifeguards do not accompany visitors with wheelchairs but can provide information and instructions.

ICON Park

ICON Park is an entertainment complex situated in Orlando, a 15-minute drive from the downtown area. The park offers entertainment for all the family, with over 40 restaurants, shops and amusement park rides. There are also big-name attractions such as the SEA LIFE center, Madame Tussauds and the famous ICON Park Wheel, which offers incredible views over the surrounding area.

Situated in ICON Park Orlando, Madame Tussauds is home to Orlando’s best waxworks of famous celebrities. With waxworks of famous musicians, actors, sports stars and more, you can snap your photo next to your favorite celebrity, or recreate your favorite film on one of the museum’s sets. Bring your camera and get ready to hang out with waxworks of the rich and famous.

Enjoy a self-guided visit to ICON Park, Orlando, situated only a 15-minute drive from the downtown area. 

ICON Park is an accessible family-friendly entertainment complex in Orlando, Florida. The park has many fun attractions that bring in many visitors annually, such as the Madame Tussauds museum, complete with waxworks of famous celebrities, and the SEA LIFE center, which has marine animals such as sharks and turtles. SEA LIFE also has a 360° tunnel through the tank, so visitors can watch the fish swim all around them. Other attractions at ICON Park include the Museum of Illusions, where you can stage fun photos with your family and friends, and the Pearl Express train which tours the park. Don’t forget to take a spin on The Wheel, to enjoy views of the park and the surrounding area. 

ICON Park also offers many shopping venues where you can buy local souvenirs and gifts. If you get hungry, you can stop off at one of the onsite restaurants, which offers cuisines based on French, British, American, Australian, Mexican, Turkish and Italian food. There are also numerous bars and concession stands to purchase drinks or on-the-go snacks. Admission and parking at ICON Park are free of charge, as are the nightly light shows. Certain attractions however require a paid ticket that can be booked online or purchased at the counter located inside of the Wheelhouse.

The park is accessible to visitors with disabilities, but restrictions may apply to some of the attractions within the park. All attractions can accommodate wheelchairs measuring up to a maximum of 91 cm (36 inches) in width and 129 cm (51 inches) in length. Service animals are welcome, as long as they stay on a leash at all times. Accessible parking bays are located close to the entrance and several accessible restrooms can be found onsite.

Mennello Museum of American Art

With a permanent Earl Cunningham collection, the Mennello Museum of American Art strives in exhibiting American art in an elegantly curated and accessible way. Not only paintings, but sculptures, interactive exhibitions and activities are held on-site. The museum has an educational purpose that celebrates traditional and contemporary art, as well as a garden with wheelchair-friendly paths near the lake. There are ramped step-free alternative entrances and smooth floored spacious exhibition rooms. A wheelchair is available and large-print labels can be requested.

Madame Tussauds Orlando at ICON Park

On this self-guided tour, you can see the waxworks of the iconic Madame Tussauds museum, situated in ICON Park in Orlando. Madame Tussauds museum houses waxworks of many celebrities, including some from Florida such as Pitbull. There are also waxworks of famous musicians and sports stars, as well as some of Hollywood’s best known actors and actresses. At the museum, you will also find recreations of film sets, so that you can take photos recreating your favorite scenes from movies such as E.T. and films from the Marvel cinematic universe. Madame Tussauds is an accessible venue, set only on one level. As this visit is self-guided, you will not have a dedicated tour guide but assistance is available at the front desk. The whole venue is wheelchair-accessible and there are several accessible parking bays in the nearby parking lot. Wheelchair-accessible restrooms can be found on site and service animals are permitted.

Learning in an interactive and accessible way about the latest science discoveries is possible at the Orlando Science Center. Live shows, hands-on exhibits and experiences are available, as well as sign language upon request, wheelchair-accessible restrooms and step-free entrances. Focusing on an array of science research areas, such as animals, dinosaurs and space, learning experiences are offered for children and adults. You can request speakerphones upon arrival to better understand your visit and there are accessible parking spaces on-site.

Renting an electric scooter is a great way for you to get the most out of your trip to Orlando. Once you’ve reserved your scooter, it will be delivered directly to your hotel and you can head out and explore the city independently. Several different models of scooter are available to rent, although models may vary according to region. The three-wheel electric scooter has a smaller turning radius, making it easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces. A range of styles are available, and these scooters can generally accommodate a total weight of 136 kg (300 pounds) to 181 kg (400 pounds). Four-wheel scooters have more stability and a higher weight bearing capacity. As these scooters are larger, they are better suited to the outdoors, but can be used in wide indoor spaces such as shopping malls. 

There are also standard scooters which have a larger seating and storage space, and have a longer battery life. Visitors looking for a more flexible option can choose the portable scooter, which folds up or disassembles to fit in the trunk of a car. Portable scooters are more lightweight, but have the lightest weight bearing capacity. Lastly, there is also the option of a heavy-duty scooter for people weighing up to 226 kg (500 pounds), which are more sturdy and have a longer battery life. All scooters come with necessary equipment such as batteries, a key and charging cables. 

Assistance will be available to unload the scooter at your hotel and to provide you with initial instructions, and once you’re ready, you can head out and explore Orlando as much as you wish.

Wekiva River, the same river Temucuan Indians used to fish on, is located at a park that offers a respectful way of interacting with nature and the land’s history. Renting a wheelchair in Orlando is a great way to help you get out and about to enjoy your time in the city. Plenty of wheelchair models are available and the wheelchair will be delivered right to your hotel, for your convenience.

 You can choose from a wide range of wheelchairs to suit your needs, including self-propelled wheelchairs and wheelchairs that are pushed by your companion. However, the availability of wheelchair models may vary according to your location. Some of the wheelchairs, including the transport wheelchairs and the lightweight wheelchair models, are smaller and are designed to be easy to fold up and store in the trunk of a car, giving you the flexibility to travel as much as you want to. Standard wheelchairs are also collapsible but are designed to be self-propelling, although they can be pushed by your companion if you wish.

 There is also the more sturdy option of the bariatric wheelchair, which can support a greater weight load. Despite their higher weight bearing capacity, these chairs can still be collapsed for easy storage and are lighter than most mobility scooters. Once you’ve chosen a wheelchair to suit your needs, the chair will be delivered to your hotel and an assistant will be available to hand the chair over and answer any questions you may have. Then you can head out and explore as much of Orlando as you want to visit.

Rent an electric scooter to help you get out and about and discover Orlando.  The Model C scooter can adapt to many kinds of terrain and provides a safe and comfortable ride. It has an ergonomic design and can be adjusted for height, and the control panel can also be switched onto the right or left hand side of the scooter. Models available for rental may vary according to location. All rentals come with all necessary equipment, such as charging cables and keys. When the scooter is dropped off, an assistant will be available to give you tips on how to get the most out of it. Then you can self-transfer into the electric scooter and head out to enjoy the city.
