On this accessible tour, you’ll be met at your hotel and from there you’ll travel in a wheelchair accessible vehicle to the first stop of the day, the viewpoint at Pico Dos Barcelos. Here you’ll be able to take in panoramic vistas over Funchal before traveling on to Eir...On this accessible tour, you’ll be met at your hotel and from there you’ll travel in a wheelchair accessible vehicle to the first stop of the day, the viewpoint at Pico Dos Barcelos. Here you’ll be able to take in panoramic vistas over Funchal before traveling on to Eira do Serrado which boasts great views of the region’s mountainous terrain. You’ll also be able to sample some of the area’s local delicacies which are made from chestnuts. Next, you’ll travel to Câmara De Lobos, a picturesque seaside town where you’ll have a 90-minute lunch break. Optional visits to the Press Museum and Henrique & Henrique winery are available here.The last stop on the tour is Cabo Girão. This viewpoint is located at 580 meters above sea level and has a glass platform allowing the bravest tour participants to look directly down onto the crashing waves far below.
The tour vehicle is wheelchair accessible with a ramp in the back and you can store your wheelchair in the van if needed. There are multiple accessible restrooms throughout the tour; some restrooms located in restaurants are paid, however access is free if you eat or drink at the restaurant. Some venues on the tour may require assistance to access due to sloping ramps and uneven terrain. Your guide will be able to help you throughout the tour and an access ramp will be provided at the Cabo Girão viewing platform.
