Overview

A 281-acre natural landscape, Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is open every day, free of any charge, for locals and visitors to go walking, strolling or sporting. There are thousands of plant species to explore and learn about and virtual walks, guided tours and digital learning resources.  

There are family activities available and the place is committed to be accessible. There are paved paths or tracks, seating areas, and portable restrooms near the Arborway Gate, on Meadow Road, near the Leventritt Garden, and at the base of Peters Hill. Service animals are welcome both outside and inside the visitor’s center and, if requested beforehand, sign language interpreters can be available.
