Overview

Visit some of Venice’s most popular tourist attractions, St. Marks Square and the Doge Palace, to be transported back in time. St. Mark’s Square is the biggest public square in Venice and is home to government buildings and a breathtaking Italo-Byzantine basilica. Just a few steps away, the Doge Palace was built in Venetian Gothic style in 1340 and has intricate mosaics, gold leaf detailing, detailed paintings, floors, columns, and slabs in precious ancient marble. There are several accessible bathrooms throughout the activity, in Doge’s Palace as well as throughout the city. The guide has extensive experience assisting people with disabilities and will ensure that all places visited are wheelchair accessible and can be navigated independently. Visitors will meet their guide at St. Mark’s Square and make their way to the Doge Palace before ending the tour back at St. Mark’s Square. The Madonna Nicopeia Chapel at the Doge Palace has a ramped entrance and an elevator available upon request that takes guests to the museum. The museum has various collections and houses the original “quadriga” and four copper horses stolen during the Fourth Crusade.
